CAMPBELL HILL, Clarence Louis Misselhorn, 89, of Campbell Hill, passed away at 3:30 PM Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at his home in Campbell Hill, surrounded by his family. He was born January 29, 1925 in Campbell Hill, Illinois the son of Edwin and Alma (Gerberding) Misselhorn. Clarence married Frieda Darlene Willis on August 28, 1952 in Hernando, MS. They were married for 62 years. Clarence was retired from Peabody Coal Company in Marissa. He was the Road Commissioner for Bradley Township for 16 years. Clarence also worked at Misselhorn Implement Company in Campbell Hill, Ava Quarry, Midwest Stone Company in Anna and Misselhorn Welding & Machine Shop in Campbell Hill. Clarence served in the U. S. Army during WWII. He was a member of the Denmark Baptist Church in Cutler, the Campbell Hill American Legion Post #1096 of which he was the last WWII member, and he was the Fire Chief of the Campbell Hill Volunteer Fire Department for 10 years. He is survived by his wife: Darlene Misselhorn, Campbell Hill; Children: Darwin (Linda) Misselhorn, Elgin, TX; Paula (Larry) Fisher, Campbell Hill; David (Judy) Misselhorn, Campbell Hill and Todd (Tammy) Missehorn, Ava, IL; 11 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchidren. Clarence is also survived by sisters: Dorine (Ray) Schnaare, Steeleville, IL; Edith Huddleston, Sparta; Ruth Ann (Dean) Kessel, Dongola, IL and brother-in-law: Fred W. Willis, Norman, IN and several nieces and nephews. Clarence is preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Anne Elaine Misselhorn and 3 brothers. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Wilson's Funeral Home Ava, Illinois. Rev. Marty DeRoche and Rev. Bill Stoklosa officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Campbell Hill. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, on Friday where friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 7:30 to 11AM. Military Graveside Services will be under the auspices of Campbell Hill American Legion Post #1096. Memorials may be made to the Campbell Hill Fire Department or Denmark Baptist Church.
