AVA - Charlotte A. Minter, 68, of Ava, passed away at 9:55 am, Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. Charlotte was born in DeSoto, Illinois on October 5, 1946, the daughter of Ralph and Pearl Webb Crews. She married Gary Wayne Minter, Sr. on August 12, 1967 at DeSoto, Illinois. He preceded her in death on April 23, 2014. Charlotte was a Homemaker. Charlotte was a member of the Ava Missionary Baptist Church in Ava and a former member of the Ava Fire Department Auxiliary. Charlotte is survived by one son, Gary Wayne Minter, Jr. of Ava; one granddaughter, Phoebe Minter; three step grandchildren, Audrey, Tony and Kenny Peterien; and one brother, Bob Crews of Carbondale, IL. Charlotte was also preceded in death by her Parents; one brother, Gene Crews; and one sister, Nellie Fager. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava with Pastor Ron Heiman officiating. Burial will follow at Ava Evergreen Cemetery, Ava, Illinois. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 11 am until 1 pm Tuesday. Memorials may be given to the Family.
