Obituary Notice SHILOH - Charles R. Norton, 78, of Shiloh, passed away at 11:01 am, Sunday, February 9, 2014 at the Memorial Hospital in Belleville. Charles was born in Cutler, Illinois on April 17, 1935, the son of Harlen and Helen Riley Norton . He married Shirley Bayer on June 19, 1953 at Percy, Illinois. She preceded him in death on November 29, 2011. Charles was a member of the Spring Valley Baptist Church in Shiloh, Illinois and was a veteran of the National Guard. Charles is survived by one son, John C. Norton of Belleville; one brother, Norm (Betty) Norton of Columbia, SC; one niece, Jane (John) Beach of South Carolina; one nephew, Matt (Linda) Norton of South Carolina; and several great nieces and great nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; and his step father, Harry Rosan. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, February 14, 2014 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville with Rev. Jerold Darnell officiating. Burial will follow in Percy Village Cemetery, Percy, Illinois. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 9 am until 11 am Friday. Memorials may be given to Spring Valley Baptist Church, Shiloh or Percy Village Cemetery.
