Mccomb
November 24, 1941 – March 19, 2025
MURPHYSBORO - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Charles Herbert McComb, 83, who left us on March 19, 2025. Charles passed away at the Marion VA CLC, surrounded by his daughters and brother.
Charles was immensely proud of his family, particularly his grandsons. His greatest passion in life was fishing, cherishing every moment spent on the river. He was a member of the Paul Stout American Legion Post #127, Murphysboro.
He is survived by his daughters Stacey Bauer of Highland, IL, and Tanna & Bill Courtney of Carrier Mills, IL. We will deeply miss our father and are eternally grateful for every day spent with him.
Additionally, Charles had two beloved grandsons, Zane Baker of Kansas City, and Tagg Baker of Highland, IL.
Charles will be fondly remembered and missed by his siblings Lorrain (Charles) Williams, David (Luellea) McComb, and Gary (Shirley) McComb.
He also held dear his many nieces and nephews: Jeff McComb, Leslie (Blake) Mulholland, Matt (Melissa) McComb, and Kelly (Teddy) Lattan, all of whom will greatly miss their uncle Charles.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert C and Mary McComb, nephews Chuck Williams, and Damon McComb.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 10:00 am, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, with Pastor Ownley Williams officiating. Burial will be at Ava Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home on Saturday March 22, 2025 at 8:30 -10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for memorial donations to be given to St Francis Animal Rescue, Murphysboro, IL, an organization dear to Charles who had a great passion for dogs.
The Family would like to thank the nurses and Doctor at Marion Veterans Home CLC for their care and love they had for our father.
The family would also like to extend an extreme appreciation to Adam Hershberger for his dedication, love and friendship to our father.
