WILLISVILLE, Charles W Jeremiah, 83, of Willisville, passed away at 11:57 PM Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at his home in Willisville, Illinois. Charles was born February 29, 1928 in Sparta, Illinois the son of Lyle P. and Oretha (Clagg) Jeremiah. He married Ruth M. VanOver on October 3, 1953 at Cutler, Illinois. Charles was a Veteran of Marine Corp. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Task Force Smith. Charles retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Chief Master Sergeant. He was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Willisville, IL; Campbell Hill American Legion Post #1096; Kaskaskia V.F.W. Post #3553, Chester, IL and the Air Force Sargeant-21st Inf. Division Organization. He is survived by his: wife: Ruth M Jeremiah of Willisville; 2 daughters: Jerry Lyn (Larry) Reynolds, Murphysboro, IL; Charlotte Rae Jeremiah (Dennis) Horne, Indiana Springs Village, AL; 2 Granddaughters: Tricia Lyn (Lance) Crain, Johnston City, IL and Christina Marie (Evelio) Garcia, Carterville, IL; 3 Great Grandchildren: Dylan and Maggie Lyn Crain and Lily Cadence Garcia; and one sister Lyla Lee (Herman) Demick of Sparta, IL. . Charles is preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 19, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville with Rev. Cletus Zimmerman and. Rev. Willis Durbin officiating. Burial will follow at Looney Springs Cemetery, Campbell Hill, IL. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home on Saturday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday from 7:30am until the hour of service. The preferred form of remembrance are memorials to Central Baptist Church.
