AVA - Charlene S. Vancil, 56, of Ava, passed away at 11:40 am, Friday, May 25, 2012 in Carbondale, IL. Charlene was born in Morgan County, Kentucky on December 10, 1955 the daughter of Charles and Earlene Spencer Stamper. She married William Perry Vancil on November 28, 1981 at Jellico, TN. He preceded her in death on December 22, 2002. She was a retired school bus driver from Jessamine County, KY. She was a member of the god's House Pentecostal Church in Steeleville. Charlene is survived by her children, Genny (Vernon) Smith of Ava and Larry Lebsard of Ava; three step sons, Richard Vancil of Springfield, MO, Eric Vancil of Springfield, MO, Adam Vancil of Brentwood, CA; one step daughter, Michelle Vancil Osborn of Creal Springs, TX; four grandchildren, Adrian Cox, Kathryn Vancil, Maryelizabeth Smith, Vernon Smith, Jr.; four step grandchildren, Sage Mooney, Kalib Vancil, Lola Vancil, Amanda Wood; mother, Earlene Stamper of Stanford, KY; four brothers, Kenneth Stamper of Junction City, KY, Dale Stamper of Stanford, KY, Randy Stamper of Crab Orchard, KY, Huey Stamper of Florida; and two sisters, Linda Yacum of Stanford, KY and Betty Pennington of Stanford, KY. Charlene was preceded in death by her father; one brother, Charles Douglas Stamper; and one daughter, Jessica Dawn Boogie. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava with Rev. Phillip Easton and Rev. Donnie Quillman officiating. Burial will follow in the Ava Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Tuesday and on Wednesday from 7:30 am until the hour of service.
