Obituary

AVA – Chad Everett Fisher, of Ava, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at the age of 48, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.

Chad was born in Pinckneyville, Illinois, on November 22, 1974, to Larry and Paula (Misselhorn) Fisher. He was a member of the Trico High School Class of 1993. He married Joni Beth Mayberry on August 10, 2002. Chad and Joni were blessed with two children, Brody and Josie, who were his pride and joy. Chad was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Campbell Hill, Illinois. He worked at Kinkaid Stone Company, Ava, IL, and was a member of IOUE Local 318. Chad put lots of hard work and love into his family, homestead and Little Ass Farm, LLC. Chad was an active and loving father to Brody and Josie and enjoyed activities with them including 4H, sporting events, Daddy Daughter Dances, hunting and camping. Chad enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a good friend and neighbor to many as he was always willing to help. Chad was an active member in Sandra's Comfort, Inc.

Chad is survived by his wife, Joni, son, Brody Reed, and daughter, Josie Ann all of Ava. He is also survived by his parents, Larry and Paula Fisher of Campbell Hill; brother, Ryan (Jessica) Fisher of Ava; sister, Amy (Bob) Biermann of Steeleville; paternal grandmother, Darlene Misselhorn of Campbell Hill; in-laws, Tony and Karen Mayberry of Rockwood, IL; grandmother-in-law, Evelyn Vogel of Ava; brothers-in-law, Todd (Cara) Mayberry of Advance, MO and Matthew (Callie) Mayberry of Rockwood, IL; nieces and nephews, Brooke, Michael, Rylee, Belle, Andrew, Luke, Charlee, Elwood, Finn, Cade, and Cora; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.

Chad was preceded in death by his grandmother, Verdelle Thies; grandfathers Everett Fisher and Clarence Misselhorn; step grandfather, Lester Thies; Aunts, Anne Misselhorn, Judy Misselhorn, Cathy Randolph, and Pam Knop; Uncles, Brent Thies, Larry Meyerhoff, and Willard Knop.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 8, 2023, at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Campbell Hill, with Pastor T. Edwards Breed and Minister Deb Rathert officiating. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call on Friday from 5 pm until 8 pm and on Saturday from 7:30 am until 9 am, then from 10 am until 11 am at the church. Memorials may be given to a College Fund for his Children or Sandra's Comfort.
