Obituary

ROCKWOOD – Cathryne June "MaMa B" Bunselmeyer, 79, of Rockwood, passed away at 1:55 am, Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Three Springs Lodge in Chester, Illinois.

Cathryne was born in Happy Hollow, Gorham, Illinois on January 12, 1937, the daughter of the late Ralph and Laura Casey Stone. She married Homer Dean Bunselmeyer on October 28, 1956 at Gorham, Illinois. He preceded her in death on October 16, 1993. She was a cook for several years at the Mississippi Valley School in Gorham and also at Chester Mental Health. Cathryne was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Chester; Rural Neighbors of Rockwood and the Jackson County Farm Bureau. Cathryne's love of her life were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to cook chicken and dumplings and fried chicken every Sunday for anyone who was there. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Cathryne is survived by four sons, Kenny (Heidi) Bunselmeyer of Jacob, IL, Kevin (Peggy) Bunselmeyer of Ava, Keith Bunselmeyer of Jacob, Kendall (Linda) Bunselmeyer of Ava; grandchildren, Kendra (Tufan) Zengil, Kandace (Tony) Messina, Klayton and Kourtney Bunselmeyer, Kristin, Korey and Kassidy Bunselmeyer, and Katie, Kara, Kelly and Kylie Bunselmeyer; great grandchildren, Karter and Kaylin Zengil and Karson and Konner Messina; sisters, Virginia "Jimmy" Mezo of Charlotte, NC and Maye (Clyde) Wills of Murphysboro; brothers-in-law, Phil Maxheimer of Murphysboro, and Roger (Bonnie) Bunselmeyer of Collinsville, IL; sisters-in-law, Lela Mae Jolley of Chandler, AZ, and Sharon (Richard) Misuraca of Chester.

Cathryne was also preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Kayci Ann Bunselmeyer; sisters, Dorothy (Harold) Porter and Faye Maxheimer; brother, Ralph "Bud" (Jesse) Stone; and brothers-in-law, Ralph "Squeak" Mezo and Donald Jolley.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava with Rev. Cecil Dunning officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery, Rockwood, IL. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 10 am until 2 pm Saturday. Memorials may be given to First Presbyterian Church in Chester or Ebenezer Cemetery.
