MURPHYSBORO – Carolyn J. Wisely, 83, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at her home in Murphysboro, IL, surrounded by her family.

Carolyn was born on September 11, 1942, in Gorham, IL, to Scott C. and Irma Lucille (Crowell) Ebersohl. She married Glen A. Wisely on November 19, 1960, at United Methodist Church, Orville, IL. Carolyn was a homemaker and attended Pate Chapel Baptist Church, Murphysboro, IL.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Glen Wisely of Murphysboro, IL, her sons: John (Pam) Wisely of Vergennes, IL, Jeff Wisely of Murphysboro, IL; her grandchildren: Natasha (Kerry) Oestreicher, Jesse R. (Kelly) Wisely; her great grandchildren: Kallie and Kenzie Oestreicher, Evie Wisely; her step great granddaughter, Gracie Maynor, and her brother, Loyd (Ruth) Ebersohl of Murphysboro, IL.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026, 12:00 noon, at Wilson’s Funeral Home, Ava, IL, with Pastor Richard Lynch officiating. Burial to follow at Parrish Cemetery, Vergennes, IL. Visitation will be Monday morning, June 22, 2026, where friends may call from 10:00 am, until time of service at the funeral home.
