AVA – Carol A. Schroeder, 72, of Ava, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021, at her home in Ava, Illinois.

Carol was born September 2, 1949, in Murphysboro, IL, to Russell and Bette (Minter) Bilderback.  She married Lawrence E. "Larry" Schroeder on October 12, 1978, in Chester, IL.  Carol was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Raddle, IL and Senior Renewal, Murphysboro, IL.

Carol is survived her husband, Lawrence Schroeder of Ava, IL, children: Deborah (Darren) Hatley of Jacob, IL, Robert (Cheryl) Collins of Metropolis, IL, James "Jimmie Dale" (Kelly) Schroeder of Jacob, IL; grandchildren: Cassandra (Ben) Thomas of Ava, IL, Joey Weidig of Benton, IL, Kendall Gaillard of Norfolk, VA, Sawyer (Aly) Weidig of Eugene, OR, Donovan Weidig of Benton, IL, Chelsea (Kory) Jones of Jacob, IL, Sonya (Jay) Powell of Fort Collins, CO, Isabella Weidig of Metropolis, IL, Arawyn Schroeder of Jacob, IL; sisters: Donna Russey of Yantis, TX, Sharon Dagner of Ava, IL; brother, William Bilderback of Percy, IL, and in-laws, John (Janet) Schroeder.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, mother-in-law Mary Schroeder, brother, Gary Minter.

Friends and family may call 5–8 pm, Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, with Father Leo Hayes officiating, a short memorial service will be held at 8 pm.  Memorials may be given to Wee Care or Maple Creek Hospice and can be mailed to Wilson Funeral Home, P.O.
