Obituary

Carol A. Lowe, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, wife and friend, passed away on August 18, 2019 at 69 years of age.

Carol was committed, loyal and devoted to her family, faith and friends as her love knew no bounds.  With her heart of gold, she was the true definition of caring, kindness, open arms and selflessness.

Passionate about music, Carol served as a talented organist and pianist for St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville, IL as well as other churches and facilities in the local area.  She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan, lover of the game and all things Cardinals.  Carol recently celebrated 20 years of service and retirement from Spartan Light Metal Products in Sparta, IL.

Her daughters, Melissa and Melanie, are grateful for the strength, character and loving nature their mother taught them.  She was everything they aspire to be in a mom and know her angel's wings are watching over us all.

Born on July 30, 1950 to Marvin and Anita Rohlfing, she is survived by 2 daughters, Melissa Gress, her husband Nicholas and their daughter Kennedy Alexis; Melanie Proctor, her husband Christopher and Baby Proctor on the way.

Carol is also survived by 2 brothers, Dale Rohlfing and family; Larry Dean Rohlfing, his wife Debra and family; as well as former spouse and good friend, Michael Lowe.

Melissa and Melanie will be hosting a Celebration of Life honoring her on Saturday, August 31 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at the Steeleville American Legion.  RSVP to Melissa at melissa.ann.lowe7@gmail.com and if attending, red, black or white attire preferred to honor Mom's memory as they were her favorite colors.

Memorials can be sent to the St. Mark's Lutheran Church Organ Fund (105 North Garfield Street, Steeleville, IL 62288, stmarks.steeleville@gmail.com or via www.stmarksteeleville.com ) or to Cardinals Care – St. Louis Cardinals Community Fund (700 Clark Street, St. Louis, MO  63102, www.cardinalscare.org or via www.stlcardinals.com ).
