AVA - Carol D. Kilpatrick, 73, of Ava, passed away in Percy, IL at 12:22 pm on Wednesday, June 20, 2012. Carol was born on September 1, 1938 in Murphysboro, IL, the son of Ralph W. and Clara A. Ditzler Kilpatrick. He married Lou Ann Tope on April 2, 1966 at Ava. They later divorced. Carol was a veteran of the US Navy having served from 1956 - 1960. He was a retired operating engineer from Cora Coal Docks. Carol was a member of the Pyramid Oaks Golf Course and Operator Engineers Local #318 in Harrisburg, IL. Carol is survived by three sons, William (Leanna) Kilpatrick of Steeleville, IL, Mike Kilpatrick of Ava and Jordan (Elizabeth) Kilpatrick of Percy; a total of six grandchildren, triplet grandsons, Aidan, Bryton and Colin Kilpatrick and three others, Landon, Leim and Layla Kilpatrick; one brother, Bobbie Kilpatrick of Ava; one half brother, J.R. Kilpatrick of Rexburg, ID; and one half sister, Ruthie Jones of Campbell Hill, IL. Carol was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and two sisters. Due to Mr. Kilpatrick's wishes, cremation will take place. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava where friends may call from 6 to 8 pm. Memorials may be given to the Family.
