STEELEVILLE, Carol L Eggers, 76, of Steeleville, passed away at 3:15 A.M. Monday, September 05, 2011, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale in Carbondale, IL. She was born November 29, 1934 in Campbell Hill, Illinois the daughter of Albert H. Rieckenberg and Minnie (Rathert) Rieckenberg. Carol married Leroy H. Eggers on July 13, 1952 in Steeleville, Illinois. Leroy passed away on December 31, 2006. She is survived by her children: Debbie and Danny Picker of Steeleville, Doug and Rhonda Eggers of Percy, IL, Connie and Ron Lindenberg of Steeleville, IL, Carrie and Alan Dierks of Steeleville, IL, Richie Eggers of Percy, IL, Scott Eggers of Percy, IL and Julie Loesing of Steeleville, IL; 17 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brothers: John Rieckenberg of Steeleville, IL, Jerry Rieckenberg of Campbell Hill, IL and Carl Rieckenberg of Waterloo, IL; one sister: Vickie Gross of Sparta, IL. Carol is preceded in death by her parents and two daughters-in-law: Carlena and Michelle. Mrs. Eggers was a homemaker in her home and also retired from World Color Press in Sparta, IL. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Steeleville, B.B.K. American Legion Auxiliary Post 480 and the Wine Hill Home Extension. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Peace Lutheran Church in Steeleville. Rev. S. Blake Duncan will be officiating. Burial will be at Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Steeleville, IL. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville on Tuesday from 5:30 to 8pm and then from 7:30 to 9am and then at the church from 10 to 11am. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or Peace Lutheran Church.
