MURPHYSBORO – Carol Mae Bryant, 84, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2024, at Herrin Hospital, Herrin, Illinois.

Carol was born on March 13, 1940, in Ava, IL, the daughter of Vernon Logan and Sarah Evelyn (Levan) Sandusky. She married William Earl Bryant on January 17, 1959, in Tennessee, he preceded her in death on February 25, 2003.  Carol was self-employed and was a member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church, Murphysboro, IL. She loved jigsaw puzzles, fishing, and to sew, she had made a lot of quilts.

Carol is survived by her children: Daryl (Tina) Bryant of Murphysboro, IL, Dawn (Kevin) Turner of Chester, IL, daughter-in- law, Leslie Bryant of Murphysboro, IL; her grandchildren: Jayson Stevens, Courtney Bryant, Cody (Maddie) Mileur, DJ Bryant, Colin (Emma) Bryant, Rachael Bryant; her step grandchildren: Christy Barnett, Stephanie Eitzenhefer; her great grandchildren: Micah Jones, Camille Jones, Emerson Stevens; her step great grandchildren: Landon and Nolan Eitzenhefer; her siblings: Vernon L. (Pam) Sandusky of Sparta, IL, Marjorie (Tom) Crandall of Orian, MI, and many nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons: Denny & Dale Bryant; and a brother and sister-in-law, Eldon & Beverly Bryant.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 11:00 am, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Murphysboro, IL with Pastor Gary Darnell officiating. Everyone is asked to gather at the Cemetery. A meal will follow at Pleasant Hill Church Fellowship Hall. Memorials may be given to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital and can mailed in c/o Wilson's Funeral Home, PO Box 277, Ava, IL 62907.
