MURPHYSBORO – Carl Ray Clover, 72, of Murphysboro, passed away at 1:08 am, Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.

Carl was born in Murphysboro, Illinois, on January 3, 1952, the son of Clifford J. and Bernie Followell Clover. He married Diane L. Wright on September 26, 1969, in Jackson, MO. Carl was a retired Postal Worker. He was the Founder of Big Muddy Fryers.

Carl is survived by his wife, Diane Clover of Murphysboro; his children, Carl Wayne (Tammy) Clover of Chaffee, MO, Jessie (Darrell) Skeens of Murphysboro, Shari (Paul) Heine of Gorham, IL, and Jody (Mary Ann) Clover of Murphysboro; grandchildren, Ashley Kight, Allison Heine, Cody Clover, Hunter Clover, Katie Clover, Devin Reeves, Paul Dale Heine, Jr., Makayla Rennison, Casey Clover, and Carson Clover; great grandchildren, Braelyn, Cayden, Amelia, Everett, Oaklyn, Lilah Jean, and Kaylyn; brother, Allen Wayne (Patricia) Clover of Murphysboro; and numerous several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Carl was preceded in death by his Parents; his son, Gerald Ray Clover; and his granddaughter, Leanna Marie.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 11:00 am, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, with Rev. James Easton officiating. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 4 pm until 8 pm on Friday, and on Saturday from 7:30 am until 11:00 am.
