WALSH – Calvin Eggemeyer, 87, of Walsh, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at The Atrium in Rockford, Illinois.

Calvin was born in Walsh, Illinois, on November 15, 1933, the son of Fritz L. and Adeline Eggemeyer.  He married Earline R. Rieckenberg on June 25, 1955, at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Campbell Hill.  She preceded him in death on September 30, 2020.  He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.  Calvin was retired from Captain Coal and was a Farmer.

Calvin is survived by one daughter, Cathy (Kris) Axberg of Poplar Grove, IL; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and brothers and sisters, Virgil (Loretta) Eggemeyer of Joliet, IL, Meldene (Frank) Gorman of Smithton, IL, Berdell (Pat) Eggemeyer of Ellis Grove, IL, Norlan (Karlyn) Eggemeyer of Walsh, IL, JoAnn (Richard) Campbell of Phoenix, AZ, Karen (Elvan) Mollet of St. Charles, MO, and Peggy Beitel of Ruma, IL and brothers-in-law, Leroy (Mae) Rieckenberg, Campbell Hill, IL and Robert (Cathy) Rieckenberg, Delano, MN.

Calvin was also preceded in death by his Parents; two sons, Rick and Joey; one grandson, Michael; and brothers-in-law, Homer D. Rieckenberg, and Randy Beitel.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at 11:00 am, at Zion Lutheran Church in Walsh, with Minister Deb Rathert officiating.  Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Walsh.  Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 9 am until 11 am.  Memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church.
