MURPHYSBORO – Bruce W. Korando, 77, left us to be with the Lord on Monday, July 20, 2026, at his home.

Bruce was born in Murphysboro, Illinois, on December 11, 1948, the son of Raymond W. and LaWanda Rose Thomas Korando. In his early years Bruce was enlisted in the US Navy Seabees. He worked on various farms and then worked in the coal mines. He later poured concrete and retired to enjoy a relaxing life taking day scenic drives to his favorite places. Throughout his life, he enjoyed hunting, being on a BBQ team and making sure his prime rib was medium rare for Christmas every year.

Bruce was the father of two loving daughters, Mandy Korando of Murphysboro and Courtney (Brian) Wilson of Ava; a grandfather to two amazing grandsons, Trenton Wilson and Malaki Korando. Bruce was a brother to Billy (Rebecca) Korando of Murphysboro, Brenda (Gary) Mills of Murphysboro, and Cindy (Ronald) Wagner of Chester; an uncle to six nieces, Elizabeth Stiegman, Casey Satterfield, Sarah Mills, Maggie Brenning, Annie Padgett and Audrie Craig; two nephews, Trent Wagner and Shane Wagner; and numerous great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.

Bruce was preceded in death by his Parents.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 1:00 pm, at Wilson’s Funeral Home, Ava, with Rev. James Easton officiating. Burial will follow in Ava Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be at Wilson’s Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 11 am until 1 pm on Friday, July 31, 2026. Memorials may be given to Wee Care of Jacob
