CAMPBELL HILL - Brent A. Thies, 47, of Clearwater, FL, formerly of Campbell Hill, passed away at his home on Friday, January 25, 2013 in Clearwater, FL. Brent was born on June 3, 1965 in Murphysboro, IL, the son of Lester C. and Verdelle Eggemeyer Thies. Brent was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Campbell Hill and a former member of the St. Luke's Bell Choir. He was a former member of the Campbell Hill Jaycees and a former member of the Campbell Hill/Ava Ambulance Service. Brent graduated from Trico High School Class of 1983. He worked locally for Dave's IGA in Steeleville. He thereafter moved to Clearwater, Fl and began employment with Walgreens. Brent rose through the ranks to become a store manager. He was well thought of by his co-workers and employees. Brent is survived by his mother, Verdelle Thies of Campbell Hill; brothers-in-law, Willard (Elaine) Knop of Steeleville and George Randolph of Hurst, IL; brothers and sisters, Larry (Paula) Fisher of Campbell Hill, Patty (Dan) Kenner of Herrin, IL, Retha Meyerhoff of Percy, IL, Doug (Chris) Thies of Campbell Hill and Lonnie (Marla) Fisher of Campbell IL; numerous nieces and nephews; and great nieces and great nephews. Brent was preceded in death by his Father, Lester Thies; sisters, Pam Knop and Cathy Randolph; brother-in-law, Larry Meyerhoff; and nephew, Jonathan Knop. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, February 1, 2013 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Campbell Hill with Rev. Matthew T. Kamprath officiating. Burial will follow in St. Luke's Lutheran Cemetery in Campbell Hill. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Thursday and on Friday from 7:30 am until 8:30 am, then from 9:30 until 10:30 am at the church. Walgreens will be having a Celebration of Life ceremony in memory of Brent on Monday, February 4, 2013 from 2 pm until 5 pm at Rusty Pelican in Tampa, FL. Memorials may be given to St. Luke's Lutheran Church Steeple Fund, St. Luke's Lutheran Cemetery Fund, or Walgreens Relay for Life National Team.
