AVA – Brenda G. Miesner, 78, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at Memorial Hospital, Carbondale, Illinois.

Brenda was born on April 1, 1946, in Murphysboro, IL, the daughter of Kenneth Louis and Margaina (Fisher) Gale. She married Forrest Miesner at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Raddle, IL, on September 23, 1967. Brenda graduated from Gorham High School, Gorham, IL. She worked at Prim Hosiery, Jackson County Clerk's office, secretary for St. Andrew's Catholic Church, and a Transcript Scopist. Brenda was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Raddle, IL and Paul Stout American Legion Post #127 Auxiliary, Murphysboro, IL. She liked making crafts, planning and hosting parties and family gatherings, especially hosting big family Christmases, and playing pinochle. Brenda loved to travel, hiking in the mountains in western National Parks, lots of road trips and float trips on Current River with family and friends.

Brenda is survived by her husband Forrest Miesner, her children: Gretta (Cliff) Cairatti, Shawn (John) McKeon; her grandsons: Anthony Cairatti, Chandler Cairatti; her siblings: Phyllis (Joe) Ellis, Gordon (Billie Ruth) Gale, Janet Santos, Allen "Butch" Gale; her in-laws: Ray (Nelda) Miesner, Jane (Terry) Cottonaro; her nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews and great great great nieces and nephews.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Larry Maxwell, a sister Patricia Basso, and a brother-in-law Dale Frederick Miesner.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 23, 2024, 11:00 am, at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Raddle, IL, with Father Leo Hayes officiating. Burial to follow at Glenn Cemetery, Jacob, IL. Visitation will be Friday, November 22, 2024, Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, IL, where friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, and then on Saturday, November 23, 2024, 10:00 – 11:00 am, at the church. Rosary to be recited on Friday at 7:30 pm. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Tunnel to Towers and can be mailed to Wilson's Funeral Home, P.O. Box 277, Ava, IL 62907.
