MURPHYSBORO – B. Irene Garver, 96, of Murphysboro, and formerly of Ava passed away at 4:05 PM, Thursday, December 20, 2018, at Manor Court of Carbondale.

Irene was born on November 16, 1922, in Murphysboro, the daughter of Sherman David and Grace (Bryant) Reiman. She married Raymond H. Garver, on September 29, 1946, at Marion, Illinois and they shared 53 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on March 23, 2000. Irene was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church in Murphysboro.

Irene is survived by her children; Donna (John) Pugh, of Murphysboro and Donald (Kim) Garver of Ava; grandchildren, John Matthew Pugh, Mitchell Lee (Aleisha) Garver, Katelyn Donn (Fiancee, Drew Novara) Garver; sisters, May L. Smith of Murphysboro and Earlene High of Austin, TX; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Strothmann of North Tonawanda, NY and Ruth McCann of Murphysboro; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

Irene was preceded in death by her Parents; sister, Marie Redding; brother, Russell Reiman; and one infant brother. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 22, 2018, at the Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, with Rev. Rick Sutton, officiating.  Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Murphysboro.  Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 11 am until 1 pm on Saturday.  Memorials may be given to First Christian Church, Murphysboro.
