AVA - Blanche L. Garver, 93, of Ava, passed away at 8:10 am, Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the Rehab and Care Center in Murphysboro. Blanche was born in Ava, IL on November 23, 1918, the daughter of Warren Otto and Mary Grace Whisler Garver. Blanche was a retired Elementary Teacher and a member of the First Baptist Church in Ava. Blanche is survived by three nieces, Joyce Jones of Ava, Dale Jones of Bunker Hill, IL and Nancy Mills of Arlington, TX; 6 great nieces and nephews; and 9 great great nieces and nephews. Blanche was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Geraldine Reiman and Aleta Meyer. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, August 26, 2012 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava with Rev. Don Caraway officiating. Burial will follow in Ava Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Saturday and on Sunday from 7:30 am until the hour of service. Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church of Ava.
