STEELEVILLE - Billy D. "Pete" Witbracht, 63, of Steeleville, passed away at 5:00 pm, Friday, July 24, 2015 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Illinos. Pete was born in Chester, Illinois on September 8, 1951, the son of Billy J. and Talitha Joost Witbracht. He was a Carpenter and a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville and Carpenter's Local #480. Pete is survived by the mother of his children, Jane Schmidt; three daughters, Renee (Mike) Smith of Coulterville, Brandy (Donnie) Bixby of Steeleville and Amber (Matt) Bettlach of Belleville; grandchildren, Kaley (Cole) Bumann, Cody (Levi) Craig, Hayden Bixby, Aspen Bixby, Sydney Bixby, Shane Bettlach and Rylee Bettlach; great grandson, Carter Bumann; mother, Talitha Ohlau of Steeleville; and sister, Judy (Rodney) Chapman of Swansea, IL. Pete is preceded in death by his Father and step father, Kenneth Ohlau. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, July 27, 2015 at the St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville with Rev. Kelly Bedard officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mark's Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 5 pm until 8 pm Sunday and on Monday from 7:30 am until 9 am then from 10 am until 11 am at the church. Memorials may be given to the Family for their choice.
