CUTLER, Billy G. Mikel, 88, of Cutler, passed away at 10:05 AM Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at home in Cutler, Illinois. He was born May 27, 1926 in Campbell, Missouri the son of J. B. and Bertha (Perkins) Mikel. Billy married Zola Jordan in May of 1948 in Kennett, Missouri. Billy was a Retired Teamster. He was a Sargent in the U.S. Army during WWII. Billy was of the Pentecostal Faith and he was a former Trustee of the Village of Cutler for 20 years. Billy was a loving husband to his wife, Zola for 66 years. He was a dear father to Danny and JoAnn Mikel Mason of St. Peter's Mo, Peggy and Doug Higgerson of Cutler, Bonnie Ricker of Cutler, Martha and Jim Skiles of Barnhart, MO, Billy and Carolyn Mikel of Affton, MO and Gerald and Sonja Mikel of Cutler. He was a Grandfather to Ronnie and Kim Higgerson, Shelly and Kevin Mason, Michael and Tonya Mason; Darran and Gerald Ricker, Kimberly and Cecil Thompson, Jamie and James Myer, Jimmy Skiles, Lisa and Julienae Moreland, Steven and Jennifer Mikel, Jody Farmer, Jamie and Adam Ruck, Stephanie and Shawn Carpenter and Kevin Mikel. Billy was a Great Grandfather to Ronnie, Paige and Brooke Higgerson; Sabrina, Kellee, Kaylee and Kilee Mason; Haley and Kyley Gartner; Adeliene, Milan, Morgan, Myah and Preston Myer; Eden Skiles; Tyler Ricker; Madison and Emma Tucker; Broedie Moreland; Mylee and Kashton Mikel and Sarah and Kimber King. Billy is also survived by a Step Brother, Frank Mikel. Billy is preceded in death by his Mother, Bertha Head; Sister, Peggy Mikel; 2 Sons, Ronnie G. Mikel and Larry D. Mikel; 4 Grandsons: Paul (Mokey) Ricker, Larry D. (Chunk) Mikel, Christopher Mikel and Larry D.(Chico) Mikel; Granddaughter, Angel Higgerson, and Nephew, Harold (Bub) York. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Wilson's Funeral Home Steeleville with Rev. Billy E. Pendergrass officiating. Burial will follow at Cutler Cemetery, Cutler, IL. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 7:30am to 10am. Memorials may be made to a Love Fund for the family.
