AVA - Billie Ruth Holliday, 87, of Belleville, formerly of Ava, passed away at 10:20 am, Monday, January 13, 2014 at the Memorial Hospital in Belleville. Billie Ruth was born in Ava, IL on August 9, 1926, the daughter of Edward Isaac and Cassie Arminda Bagley Holliday. She retired after 22 years as a housekeeper at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Belleville. Billie Ruth is survived by one brother, Kent Holliday of Ava, IL and numerous nieces and nephews. Billie Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; three brother; and seven sisters. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, January 16, 2014 at the Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, with Rev. Wilson Evan McWherter officiating. Burial will follow in Ava Evergreen Cemetery, Ava, Illinois. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 9 am until 11 am Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to St. Jude's Children Hospital.
