AVA- Beulah M. Qualls, 80, of Ava passed away at 11:50 AM, Thursday, December 13, 2018 at her home in Ava.
Beulah was born on June 6, 1938, in Ava, the daughter of Oscar and Elizabeth (Hirsch) Reiman. She married Joseph A. Qualls, Sr., on June 23, 1956, in Ava and they shared 36 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on October 14, 1992. Mrs. Qualls was a homemaker and retired from Penn Aluminum, in Murphysboro, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ava.
Beulah is survived by her children; Joseph A. Qualls, Jr., of Ava, Loretta Qualls, of Steeleville, Kathy (Doug) Carlton, of Makanda, 2 grandchildren; Deasha (Jordan) Kernodel, and Brandon Carlton, 2 great grandchildren; Kya and Mason Kernodel. She is also survived by 1 brother; Albert (Wilma) Reiman, of Pekin, Illinois, 1 sister; Helen (Mike) Modglin, of Ava.
Mrs. Qualls was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava, with Rev. William Stoklosa officiating, burial will follow at the Glenn Cemetery, Jacob. Visitation will be held on Monday evening at the funeral home where friends may call from 5 to 8 PM, and then on Tuesday from 7:30 AM until the hour of service. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
