SPARTA, Betty S. Welty, 82, of Sparta, passed away at 6:40 AM Thursday, January 15, 2015, at Chester Rehab and Nursing Center in Chester, Illinois. She was born March 8, 1932 in Campbell Hill, Illinois the daughter of Raymond and Adeline (Fischer) Schatte. Betty married Clarence L. Welty on April 4, 1953 in Piggott, Arkansas. Clarence passed away on January 10, 1994. Betty was retired from Sparta Dress Factory and Gilster Mary Lee Corporation. She is survived by her brother: Ronald Schatte, Houston, TX; Sister-in-law, Mary Wegener; Brother-in-law: Glen Paulter and several nieces and nephews. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, 1 Brother, Howard; 1 Sister, Pamela Pautler and 1 Nephew, Danny Pautler. Graveside services will be held Monday, January 19, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Percy Village Cemetery Percy, Illinois. Visitation will be at the Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 10 to 11am on Monday. Memorials may be made to the family.
