SPARTA – Betty J. Meyerhoff, 87, of Sparta, passed away at 12:50 AM, Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at the Randolph County Care Center, Sparta.

Betty was born on December 6, 1931, in Sparta, the daughter of Earl and Rebecca (Fulton) McMurtry. She married David E. Meyerhoff, on May 17, 1957, at the Jordan Grove Church, and they shared 61 years of marriage. Betty was a retired bookkeeper for the Sparta School District #140. She was a member of the Bethel Reformed Presbyterian Church, Sparta, and loved to garden and cooking for friends and her family. Betty was very active at the church.

Betty is survived by her husband; David Meyerhoff, of Sparta, son; Dr. Mark (Diane) Meyerhoff, DC, of Sparta, grandchildren; Megan Meyerhoff, and Justin (Jordan Lodge) Meyerhoff. She is also survived by a brother; William McMurtry, of Phoenix, AZ.

Mrs. Meyerhoff was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother; Robert, and 1 sister; Helen.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the Bethel Reformed Presbyterian Church, Sparta, with Rev. Alex Eppstein officiating, burial will follow at the Caledonia Cemetery, Sparta. Visitation will be held on Monday evening at the church where friends may call from 6 to 8 PM, and then on Tuesday from 9 to 10:30 AM. Memorials may be made to Pioneer International Mission Organization . Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville is assisting the family with the arrangements.
