MURPHYSBORO - Betty Lou Korando, 84, of Murphysboro, passed away at 10:05 am, Friday, October 30, 2015 at Carbondale Rehab and Nursing in Carbondale, Illinois. Betty was born in Raddle, Illinois on June 15, 1931, the daughter of the late Louis and Elizabeth Shields Korando. She was retired from Jackson County Nursing Home in Murphysboro. Betty was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Murphysboro. Betty was is survived by nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her Parents; four brothers, Eugene, Sylvester, Leo and Cliff; and two sisters, Cecelia and Grace. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, November 2, 2015 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Murphysboro with Father Gary Gummersheimer officiating. Burial will follow at Ava Evergreen Cemetery, Ava, Illinois. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9 am until 11 am. Memorials may be given to St. Andrew's Catholic Church or Masses.
