Betty Ann Frischkorn, 87, of Murphysboro, passed away at 7:22 am, Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at Shawnee Senior Living, Herrin, Illinois, after a brief illness.

She was born on April 19, 1933 in Cora, Illinois, the daughter of the late Gilbert and Roberta K. (Leinicke) Heins, and has been a lifelong resident of Southern Illinois. Betty was united in marriage to Earl T. Frischkorn on November 24, 1953 in Panama, and together they shared nearly 64 years of marriage until his death on September 25, 2017.

She was a retired customer service representative at Vic Koenig Chevrolet after 18 years of service. A loving mother, Betty was happiest, when she was in the company of her children and family.

She is survived by her daughter and beloved caregiver of 13 years, Deborah Lynn Tapscott of Murphysboro, her son, Robert E. Frischkorn (Bob Lowery) of Jackson, Mississippi, and her daughter, Tracy Ann Ingersoll (Harlen) of Tunnel Hill, Illinois, and four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, her brother, Randall Gene (Katheryn) Heins of Murphysboro.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a daughter, Katherine Lee Frischkorn, who died of spina bifida on September 7, 1954.

The celebration of Betty's life will be held as a graveside service at Ava Evergreen Cemetery in Ava, Illinois on Thursday, October 22, 2020, at 11:00 am, with the Reverend Rick Sutton officiating. Visitation will be the cemetery from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Thursday.  Memorials may be given to the Hospice.  Arrangements were entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home, 206 S. 5th St., Ava, Illinois.
