AVA - Betty Lee Dagner, 78, of Ava, passed away at 5:55 A.M. Saturday, September 27, 2008, at Rehab and Care Center in Murphysboro, IL. Betty was born April 29, 1930 in Ava, Illinois the daughter of John Leonard and Rosa (Johnson) Leonard. She married Howard J. Dagner on January 19, 1948 at Piggott, Arkansas, he preceded her in death on August 14, 1996. Betty was retired from Gilster-Mary Lee in Steeleville. She was a member of the Kinkaid Christian Fellowship in Ava. She is survived by three sons, Albert S. (Diann) Dagner of Marion, Dale (Donna) Dagner of Percy, Allen (Vickie) Dagner of Ava, one daughter, Corliss Thies of Murphysboro; one son-in-law: Eugene Edwards of Ava; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Ruby McMahon of Crossville, IL and Genice Dagner of Ava. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter: Connie Edwards; three grandsons: Kyle & Eric Dagner and Greg Edwards; one daughter-in-law: Connie Dagner; three brothers and four sisters. Funeral services will be held Tuesday September 30, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava with Pastor Clay Yoakum officiating. Burial will follow in Ava Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Monday at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava and on Tuesday at 7:30 am until the hour of service at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava.
