SPARTA – Betty D. Buckner, 83, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Randolph County Care Center, Sparta, IL.

Betty was born on March 25, 1940, the daughter of Jesse and Phenabelle (Casteel) Ballard. She married Clifton Buckner on June 9, 1962, in Elkville, IL. He preceded her in death on September 24, 2007. Betty was a homemaker and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Sparta, IL.

Betty is survived by her sons: Scott (Stacy) Buckner of Sparta, IL, Brent (Melissa) Buckner of Phoenix, AZ; and her grandchildren: Trevor, Mallory, Abby, Wyatt and Elle.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023, at 9:00 am, at Caledonia Cemetery, Sparta, IL, with Rev. Clifford Adair officiating. Memorials may be given to St. John's Lutheran Church, Sparta, IL, c/o Wilson's Funeral Home, PO Box 217, Steeleville, IL, 62288.
