STEELEVILLE – Betty A. Brelje, 87, of Steeleville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Randolph County Care Center, Sparta, IL.

Betty was born on June 14, 1938, in Steeleville, IL to Arnold J. and Adell E. (Beisner) Grefe. She married Victor L. Brelje on October 28, 1961, in Steeleville, IL. He preceded her in death on June 28, 2021. Betty had retired from World Color Press, Sparta, IL, after 40 years of service. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville, IL, Graphic Art Industry Union, and the American Legion Auxiliary BBK Post 480, Steeleville, IL. Betty was active in various church and community activities.

Betty is survived by her son: Bruce (Tammy) Brelje of Waltonville, IL, her grandchildren: Nickolas and Kadon Brelje, her siblings: Mary Galbraith of Sparta, IL, and Robert Grefe of Steeleville, IL.

Betty was also preceded in death by her parents, and two sons, Brian and David.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025, 2:00 pm, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, IL, with Rev. Mark Harriss officiating. Burial to follow at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville, IL. Visitation will be Friday morning, where friends may call from 11:00 am until service time.
