CAMPBELL HILL - Bessie Irene Donnell, 103, of Campbell Hill, passed away at 12:40 am, Monday, April 6, 2015 at Three Springs Lodge in Chester, Illinois. Bessie was born in Grand Tower, Illinois on October 10, 1911, the daughter of Andrew Jackson and Cordelia Belle Johnston Browder. She married Clarence S. Donnell on October 15, 1928 at Monroe, Michigan. He preceded her in death on July 11, 1981. Bessie was a Homemaker and was a member of the Baptist Faith. Bessie is survived by three daughters, Geraldine Smith of Pekin, Illinois, Belle (Don) Jordan of Ava, IL and Sondra Donnell of Urbana, MO; 13 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 35 great great grandchildren; and 2 great great great grandchildren. Bessie was also preceded in death by her Parents; Step Mother, Mary Rhodes Browder; three brothers, Charles, John and Kendall; two sisters, Dovie and Goldie; one step brother, Ted Hall; three daughters, Nina Donnell, Leota Thies and Ramona Aldridge; and three great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, with Rev. Mike Higgerson officiating. Burial will follow at Buchanan Cemetery, Rockwood, Illinois. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 6 pm until 8 pm on Wednesday and on Thursday from 7:30 am until 11:00 am. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or Donor's Choice.
