STEELEVILLE - Bernice Winkelman, 81, of Steeleville passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, MO. Bernice was born in Red Bud, IL on September 29, 1931, the daughter of Ambrose and Irene Kelley Doyle. She married William Winkelman on October 10, 1969 in Missouri. Bernice was a homemaker. Bernice was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Willisville, OES #758, Steeleville, White Shrine of Jerusalem, Steeleville Lions Club and was the first Woman President of this club, St. Joseph's Altar Sodality, Randolph County Home Extension, Card Club, the RSVP Program at Randolph County Court House, and she was very active in various community organizations. Bernice is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Winkelman of Steeleville; children, Dan Reitz his wife, Joyce of Steeleville, Rich Reitz and Kelly of Steeleville, Diana Farley, and her husband, Gary of Steeleville, Glenda Reitz and Gary of Percy, IL, Darryl Winkelman and his wife, Phyllis of Steeleville, and Cheryl Haberberger and her husband, Mike of Chester, IL; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Dardanella Doyle of Waterloo, IL and Marcella Doyle of Granite City, IL. Bernice was preceded in death by her Parents; three brothers; and two sisters. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Willisville with Father Leo J. Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in Paradise Cemetery in Steeleville. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Monday with an Eastern Star service being held at 8 pm and the rosary being held at 8:30 pm and on Tuesday from 7:30 am until 10 am. Memorials may be given to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the American Cancer Society or Missouri Baptist Family Assist Program.
