PERCY – Bernice S. Stromeyer, 95, of Percy, passed away at 9:00 am, Friday, November 5, 2021, at Coulterville Care Center in Coulterville.

Bernice was born in Percy, Illinois, on May 15, 1926, the daughter of Arnold and Alwine Meirhoff Ohlau.  She married Norman Stromeyer on July 28, 1946 at Wine Hill.  He preceded her in death on December 9, 2001.  Bernice was a Homemaker.  She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church (Post Oak) in Campbell Hill and the St. John's Women Quilters.

Bernice is survived by two sons, Alan (Mable) Stromeyer of Percy, and Dennis (Cyndi Pitman) Stromeyer of Percy; 3 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.

Bernice was also preceded in death by her Parents; two sisters, Evelyn Knop and Elfrieda Meyer; two brothers, Melvin Ohlau and Kenneth Ohlau; and one daughter, Ruth Ann Arndt.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at St. John's Lutheran Church (Post Oak), with Minister Debra Rathert and Rev. Michael Foppe officiating.  Burial will follow at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery (Post Oak), Campbell Hill.  Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call on Monday from 5 pm until 8 pm and on Tuesday from 7:30 am until 9 am, then from 10 am until 11 am at the church.  Memorials may be given to St. John's Cemetery Fund.
