MURPHYSBORO – Bernadine F. Schnaare, 92, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2022, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, IL, after a brief illness.

Bernadine was born June 15, 1930, in Oraville, IL, to Rudolph and Jessie (King) Reiman. She married Gene W. Schnaare on March 31, 1951, in Pleasant Hill Church, Murphysboro, IL. Bernadine was a Christian, a member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church, where she served as pianist from the age of 10, a Sunday School teacher, and a youth leader. She assisted with children's church until 2019. Bernadine was also a member of the St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary, Diamond Unit of Jackson County Home Extension, and often hosted a Community Bible study in her home. Throughout her life Bernadine served actively as homemaker, caregiver, farmer, neighbor, and community member. She was also employed with Brown Shoe Company, Daniel's Grocery Co., Murphysboro Supply Co., and Medical Arts Clinic in Murphysboro.

Bernadine is survived by her daughters: Paula Goodwin of Tulsa, OK, and Carol (Bob) Miller of Rumford, RI; five grandchildren: Sam Goodwin of Tulsa, OK, Hannah (Ryan) Edmiston of Emigrant, MT, Rachel (Jared) Cowgur of Rumford, RI, Joel (Amy) Miller of Cumming, GA, Ben Miller of Providence, RI; six great grandchildren: Caroline, Corban and Cruz Cowgur, Mabyn, Asa and Marion Miller; sister-in-law, Nevlyn Reiman, six nephews and three nieces.

Bernadine is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brothers: Wayne D., Troy F., and Clifford A. Reiman, and her son-in-law, Ed Goodwin.

Visitation will be held 9 – 11 am, funeral services at 11:00 am, and burial, on Friday, November 11, 2022, at Pleasant Hill Church, Ava, Road, Murphysboro, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Restoration House Ministries for new churches in New England, or Pleasant Hill Christian Church, and can be mailed to Wilson's Funeral Home, P.O.
