Obituary

CHESTER - Bernadine Brockmeyer Loucks, 74, passed away at 2:35 pm, Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Memorial Hospital in Chester. Bernadine was born on October 20, 1938, in Percy, IL, the daughter of Martin and Hulda Weaver Brockmeyer. She married Lester Wayne Loucks on August 11, 1957 at Wine Hill, Illinois. He preceded her in death on September 12, 1992. Bernadine was retired from American Device Manufacturing in Steeleville, IL. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wine Hill; St. Paul's Ladies Aid and International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers. Bernadine is survived by four children, Dianne (Randall) Stoffel of Percy, Kathy Loucks of Chester, Jerry Loucks of Chester and his friend, Rayette Milkovich of Marine, IL, and Cindy Lyons and her friend Brian Hille of Cutler, IL; and very special family friend, Sue Loucks; grandchildren, Traci (Jerry) Witthoft, Wesley (Alysia) Stoffel, Kelsey Loucks and Keith Diskey, Kellie Loucks and Chuck Armbruster, Rachel (Mark) Garniss, Kalin Lyons and Chea Reeves, Melissa Lyons, and Shelly Lyons; great grandchildren, Samantha, Sydney, Jacob and Nathan Witthoft, Nevaeh Armbruster, Robbie Sheeley, Brooklynn Stoffel, Braelynn Lyons, Gage Garniss and Kayla Garniss; five sisters, Darlene (Herman) Mayer of Steeleville, Wilma (Edgar) Westerman of Steeleville, Lavern (Willard) Bockhorn of Sparta, IL, Anita (George) Miller of Campbell Hill, IL, and Ruby (Jim) Mattingly of New Baden, IL; two brothers, Marlin (Dolores) Brockmeyer Steeleville and Rayburn (Carolyn) Brockmeyer of Percy, IL. Bernadine was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Leslie Gerald Loucks; two granddaughters, Dasha Lyons and Tara Stoffel; and sister, Verdell (Edgar) Wolters. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, July 8, 2013 at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wine Hill, IL with Rev. Tim B. Zechiel officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Wine Hill. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Sunday and on Monday from 7:30 am until 9 am then from 10 to 11 am at the church. Memorials may be given to St. Paul's Lutheran Church Building Fund or St. Paul's Lutheran Church Ladies Aid.
