PERCY - Bernadine Liefer, 101, of Percy, passed away at 3:23 pm, Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the Randolph County Care Center in Sparta, Illinois.
Bernadine was born in Campbell Hill, Illinois on October 17, 1915, the daughter of William and Anna Scheele Gerlach. She married Theodore H. Liefer on December 28, 1941 at Campbell Hill, Illinois. He preceded her in death on June 26, 2005. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Campbell Hill; L.W.M.L. at St. Peter; Percy American Legion Auxiliary Post #1145; and A.A.R.P.
Bernadine is survived by three daughter, Valla (William) Klettke of Bridgeville, DE, Gail (Gerald) Meyer of Sparta; and Lonna Hyde of Percy; four grandchildren, Brent (Allison) Klettke of Richmond, VA, Katrina (Louis) Straker of Arbutus, MD, LaRae (Tim) Wagoner of Cutler, IL, and Lance Hyde of Potosi, MO; one step great granddaughter, Katie Wagoner; three great grandsons, Zachary Klettke, Julian Straker and Adrian Straker; and one step great great granddaughter, Kaydence Mifflin.
Bernadine was also preceded in death by her Parents and One Infant Sister.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, April 20, 2017 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Campbell Hill, with Rev. Alan Kornacki officiating. Burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 6 pm until 8 pm Wednesday and on Thursday from 7:30 am until 9 am then from 10 am until 11 am at the church. Memorials may be given to St. Peter Building Fund - Painting Project.
