AVA, Barbara A Sauerhage, 75, of Ava, passed away at 10:35 PM Thursday, November 17, 2011, at Memorial Hospital of Chester in Chester, Illinois. She was born November 5, 1936 in Senath, Missouri the daughter of James Alden Barley and Mary Emline (Kirby) Barley. Barbara married on James W. Sauerhage on September 10, 1955 in St. Louis, MO. He passed away on January 23, 2000. She is survived by her: four sons: Gary and Doris Sauerhage of Chester, IL, Steven Sauerhage of Percy, IL. Jeffery Sauerhage of Ava, IL, Kevin Sauerhage of Ava, IL; six daughters: Patricia and Richard Niemeyer of Carbondale, IL, Brenda Shipley of Tilden, IL, Carol and Andres Martinez of Carbondale, IL, Tina and Ralph Mahoney of Rosiclare, IL, Nancy and Clayton Mathis of Chester, IL and Rebecca Johnson of Ava, IL.; 18 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one brother: Avion and Kathy Barley of Fetus, MO; one sister: Juanita Ham of Arnold, MO. Barbara is preceded in death by her: parents, husband, three sons. one daughter, one brother and one sister. She was a homemaker in her own home and was of the Pentecostal faith. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 21, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Wilsons Funeral Home Ava, Illinois. Rev. Phillip Keeton will be officiating. Burial will follow at Looney Springs Cemetery, Campbell Hill, IL. Visitation will be at Wilsons Funeral Home, Ava on Sunday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and then on Monday from 7:30 to 11am. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.
