MURPHYSBORO – Ashley Nicole Closson McNamara, 33, of Woodbury, MN, formerly of Murphysboro, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at her home in Woodbury, MN.
Ashley was born in Carbondale, on June 11, 1984, the daughter of Charles Paul and Susan Kay Mueller Closson. She married Gene Paul McNamara on November 6, 2009 at Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. She was a Science Teacher at Champlin Park High School. Ashley was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Murphysboro.
Ashley is survived by her husband, Gene McNamara of Woodbury, MN; her son, Tristan McNamara; stepchildren, Michelle and Alex McNamara; parents, Charles and Susan Closson of Murphysboro; brother, Brett (Lindsey) Closson of Ava; maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Ruth Mueller of Murphysboro; paternal grandmother, Nancy Wells of Murphysboro; nephew, Parker Closson; and niece, Piper Closson.
Ashley was preceded in death by her Paternal Grandfather.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Murphysboro with Rev. Joe Hoem officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Murphysboro. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, where friends may call from 5 pm until 8 pm Tuesday and on Wednesday from 7:30 am until 9 am then from 10 am until 11 am at the church.
