JACOB – Arnold C. Mueller, 89, of Jacob, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2022, in Murphysboro, IL.

Arnold was born May 24, 1932, in Jacob, IL, to Theobald A. and Paula E. Brul Mueller. He married Ruth Seibel on November 24, 1955, in Murphysboro, IL. Arnold was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served during the Korean War. He was retired from the U.S. Forest Service and a farmer. Arnold was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Jacob, IL, serving as Sunday School Superintendent for 42 years, Elder for 6 years, and an Usher of Church since 1948. He was also a member of Jackson County Farm Bureau, V.F.W. Post #7190, Murphysboro, IL, Paul Stout American Legion Post #127, Murphysboro, IL, and Jackson County Soil & Water District. In his retirement, Arnold enjoyed attending to his honeybees and his strawberry patch.

Arnold is survived by his wife, Ruth M. Mueller, of Jacob, IL, children: Alice (Archie) Wydeck of Steeleville, IL, Bruce (Lynn) Mueller of Murphysboro, IL, Nancy (Andy) McNitt of Carbondale, IL; grandchildren: Alinda (Justin) Jeffers and their children, Tyler, Trenton, and one on the way, Adrienne (Matt) Kraus and their children, Bastian, Cayton, Luke and Jacob, Travis Schaber, Bryce (Alyssa) Mueller and their children, Bryar, Bowan and one on the way, Danyel (Tucker) Foster and their son, Greyson, Brandy Foster, Cole McNitt, Aiden McNitt, Megan McNitt; sister, Lyetta Grace, sister-in-law, Elouise Mueller, brother-in-law, Kenneth Seibel, and many nieces and nephews.

Arnold is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Linda, siblings: Raymond, Vernon, Elmer, Melva, Arvin, Hilmer, and infant, Mathilda.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at Christ Lutheran Church, Jacob, IL, with Rev. Mike Kettner officiating. Burial to follow at Christ Lutheran Cemetery, Jacob, IL. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Ava, IL, where friends may call from 5 - 8 pm, Tuesday, and Wednesday, 10 – 11 am, at the church.
