Arnold H. Diercks, 93, of Steeleville, IL passed away at 3:00 PM Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Sparta Community Hospital in Sparta, Illinois. He was born February 7, 1920 in Chester, Illinois the son of Albert and Sophia Winterberg Diercks . Arnold married Dorothy F. Hartman on Saturday, November 29, 1941 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville, IL. Dorothy passed away on November 28, 2004. He is survived by his: son: Dale and Stephanie Diercks, Steeleville, IL; four grandchildren: Bryan and Jennifer Diercks, Kevin and Angie Diercks, Josh Diercks, and Lacey Diercks all of Steeleville; four great grandchildren: Cole Diercks, Megan Diercks, Alyssa Diercks and Kaleb Diercks; daughter-in-law: Ann Kinney and Duane of Coulterville, IL; several nieces and nephews. Arnold is preceded in death by his parents, one son: DeWayne Diercks, three brothers and two sisters. He was a Farmer and also a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville, IL and the Randolph County Farm Bureau. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 10:30 AM at St. Mark's Lutheran Church , Illinois. Rev. Dr. Alan W. Janneke will be officiating. Burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville, IL. Visitation will be at Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville, IL on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and then on Saturday from 8Am until the hour of service at St. Mark's Lutheran Church Memorials may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran School or to TIP Hospice.
