STEELEVILLE – Annabelle Vallett (nee Greatting), known to friends as "Ann" passed away peacefully on June 21, 2021, at the age of 83 years. Ann was born on February 15, 1938, in Columbia, IL, to Mamie and Roland Greatting. Ann married Silas Vallett on February 23, 1957, in Baldwin, IL. Together, they raised three children and built a successful business, Si Vallett Auto Sales in Steeleville, IL, and Nashville, IL. Ann devoted her life to her family and many friends.
Ann is lovingly remembered by her husband, Silas Vallett, three children, Greg Vallett, Pam (Larry) Dierks, and Vaughn (Tinna) Vallett, seven grandchildren, Jason (Celine) Vallett, Julie (Joe) Wickwire, Lari Dierks (Ben Winick), Lane (Makayla) Dierks, Lathan Dierks, Cory Fann, and Kendall Vallett, four great-grandchildren, Daisy Vallett (Cadin Patterson), Colin Vallett, Jace Wickwire and EmmieLu Dierks, brother and sister, Roland (Janice) Greatting and Linda (Mike) Fries, and brother-in-law, Gary (Jeanette) Vallett.
Ann was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Sharon Vallett, parents, brother and sister, Marvin (Pauline) Greatting, Ruby (Hal)Litzinger, and brothers and sister-in-law, Gene, Don Allen, Marion, and Mike Vallett, and Alberta Erdmann.
Visitation will be held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville, IL, on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at 11:00 am with funeral services to follow at 2:00 pm, with Reverend Mark E. Harriss officiating. Burial services will immediately follow at Paradise Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church or St. Mark's Lutheran School Fund and can be mailed to Wilson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 217, Steeleville, IL 62288.
