STEELEVILLE, Anna Mae Sherman, 88, of Steeleville, passed away at 8:00 P.M. Thursday, November 05, 2009, at Sparta Community Hospital in Sparta, IL. Anna Mae was born March 10, 1921 in Vergennes, Illinois the daughter of George R. Grohman and Anna (Schock) Grohman. She married Frank Lavern "Nick" Sherman on June 22, 1946 at Campbell Hill, IL. He preceded her in death on May 29, 1971. Anna Mae was a Homemaker and was a member of the St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Campbell Hill, IL. Anna Mae is survived by two sons, Dennis (Susan) Sherman of Vergennes, IL, Randy (Shiela) Sherman of Steeleville, IL; four grandchildren, Angela Tanner of Pittsburg, IL, Amber Sherman of Vergennes, IL, Amanda Kerley of Fenton, MO, and Nicholas Sherman of Steeleville, IL; three great grandchildren; one sister, Georgia Lindenberg of Chester, IL; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 8, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Wilson's Funeral Home in Steeleville with Rev. Raymond Barclay officiating. Burial will follow at St. Luke's Lutheran Cemetery, Campbell Hill. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville on Sunday from Noon to 2 pm. Memorials may be made to American Bible Society.
