MURPHYSBORO – Anna May Falaster, 95, of Murphysboro, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at her home.

May was born in Hickory Ridge, IL, on February 5, 1927, the daughter of Noah Lee and Anna T. (Hoppe) Ozburn. She married Fred Falaster on December 9, 1944, in Pinckneyville, IL. He preceded her in death on July 23, 1986. May was a retired Nurse's Aid from Memorial Hospital, Carbondale, IL. She was a member of Elm Street Baptist Church, Murphysboro, IL. May loved to cook for her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are her children: Fredia Doody of Murphysboro, IL, Mary Falaster of Murphysboro, IL, Freddie Falaster of Murphysboro, IL, Larry (Marilyn) Falaster of Carbondale, IL; her five grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.

May is also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 11:00 am, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Murphysboro, IL, with Rev. Charles Allen officiating. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery.
