MURPHYSBORO – Anna Mae Derossett, 83, of Murphysboro, passed away at 2:15 PM, Monday, January 22, 2018 at her home in Murphysboro.
Anna Mae was born on March 26, 1934, in Rockwood, the daughter of Oliver Benton & Edith Marie (Leinicke) Downen. She married Howard "Boop" Derossett on October 15, 1955, and they shared 55 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on May 29, 2011. Mrs. Derossett was a retired bookkeeper for Kincaid/Reeds Creek Conservancy District and JT Blankenship's and Associates. Anna Mae was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Murphysboro, and the Murphysboro American Legion Auxiliary.
Mrs. Derossett is survived by her daughter; Anne D. (Allen) Crosby, of Lakeland, Tennessee, and 1 granddaughter; Molly Kate Crosby, of Lakeland, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Friday, January 26, 2018, at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava, with Rev. Sam Foskey officiating, burial will follow at the Ava Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday at the funeral home where friends may call from 11 AM to 2 PM. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Murphysboro.
