AVA – Anita F. Edgar, 92, of Ava passed away at 2:01 PM, Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Three Springs Lodge in Chester.

Anita was born on August 22, 1924, in Ava, the daughter of August and Mary (Ehlers) Stegmann. She married Homer G. Edgar on February 10, 1945 in Campbell Hill, and they shared 57 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on March 10, 2002.

Anita was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and a member of the Jackson County Home Extension, and Lutheran Women Missionary League.

Anita is survived by her daughter; Barbara (Gary) Misselhorn, of Campbell Hill;  grandchildren: Hilary (Chris)Sternberg, of Red Bud, and Clint (Bonnie)Misselhorn, of Carterville; greatgrandchildren: Trent Sternberg, Macy Sternberg, Lincoln Misselhorn, Sullivan Misselhorn and Barrett Misselhorn.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents, 3 Sons: 1 infant son, Dale Ray and Matthew Homer; 3 brothers; Henry Stegmann, Alfred Stegmann and William Stegmann, 5 sisters; Clara Schrader, Martha Murray, Marie Quade,  Esther Svanda and Ruth Arbeiter.
