PERCY, Allene Degenhardt, 77, of Percy, passed away at 11:30 P.M. Monday, February 14, 2011, at Three Springs Lodge in Chester, IL. She was born June 01, 1933 in Steeleville, Illinois the daughter of Louis Knop and Dora (Dierks) Knop. Allene married Glenwood Degenhardt on October 3, 1953 in Steeleville, Illinois. She is survived by her husband Glenwood Degenhardt of Percy, IL; Children: Glen Degenhardt of Percy, IL, Ann and Richard Sanders of Percy, IL.; honorary daughter: Amy and Chris Bauer of St. Peter's, MO; four grandchildren: Ashley, Nicole, Sydney and Degen; one great grandson: Gage; three honorary grandchildren: Caleb, Mason, and Nate; one brother: Willard Knop of Percy, IL; two sisters: Barbara Ellner of Prairie Du Rocher, IL Evelyn McVicar of San Antonio, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents. She was a Homemaker in her own home. She was a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Steeleville, IL; American Legion Auxiliary Post #1145 Percy, IL. honorary member of the Beta Sigma Phi and was active in Boy Scouting Troop #348, Steeleville, IL for many years. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville. Rev. Dr. Alan W. Janneke will be officiating. Burial will be at Paradise Cemetery in Steeleville, IL. Visitation will be held at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville on Wednesday from 5-8 pm and then on Thursday 7:30 am until 11am and then from Noon to 1pm at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran School.
