Tamaroa / Campbell Hill - Alice Mae Rathert Rostankowski, 92, of DuQuoin, IL passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Marshall Browning Hospital in DuQuoin, Illinois with her family by her side.

Alice was born in Chester, Illinois on June 6, 1931, the daughter of Edwin C. and Emma Middendorf Rathert. She married Edward Rostankowski on February 14, 1989, in Owensboro, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on November 13, 1993. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Campbell Hill. Alice was a retired School Bus driver for Trico School District.

Alice is survived by four children, Deborah Griffiths, Connie Hale, Elaine James, and Kyle (Jennifer) Griffiths; grandchildren, Jesse (Amy) Rodewald, Afton James (Michael Woodside), Zara (Brock) Thomas, Jordan (Danae) Hale, Justin Hale, Rachael Griffiths and Ryan Griffiths; Several great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Ronald (Ann) Rathert and Leonard (Carolyn) Rathert.

Alice was also preceded in death by her Parents; one brother, Willard Rathert, sister-in-law Elvera Rathert, and one grandson, Joshua James.

A Private Funeral service was held on Monday, May 20, 2024, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Campbell Hill, with Rev. Clifford Adair officiating. Burial followed at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery.
