SPARTA – Alice M. Perkins, 85, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.

Alice was born on November 18, 1938, in Sparta, IL, the daughter of Harold and Regina Gibson. She married Jimmie R. Perkins on December 27, 1959, in Sparta, IL. He preceded her in death on September 14, 2020. Alice was a retired Nurse, she had worked at Sparta Community Hospital, Sparta, IL, and Three Springs Lodge, Chester, IL. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Sparta, IL.

Alice is survived by her children: Patty (James) Kenney of St. Louis, MO, Jimmy Perkins of St. Louis, MO, Charles (JoLeah) Perkins of St. Louis, MO, John (Kristen) Perkins of Madison, WI; her grandchildren: Margaret "Maggie" Perkins, Patrick Kenney, Campbell Kenney, Henry Perkins, Leo Perkins; and her sister-in-law, Cleta Gibson of Sparta, IL.

Alice was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Sparta, IL, at 3:00 pm, with Rev. Bonnie Wilkins officiating. Burial to follow at Union Cemetery, Sparta, IL. Visitation will be on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Wilson's Funeral Home, Steeleville, IL, where friends may call from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, and then from 2:00 pm till time of service on Sunday at the Church.
